As you may have noticed I’ve been laying low. I haven’t been feeling 100% and while I’m keeping up with orders, etc I’m taking a bit more time for myself but also figuring out the direction WSC will be taking in the next few months. I have a few things in the works such as a new shop, new site and a few craft fairs I’m already accepted too. I decided this weekend though I would dedicate my time to completing some outstanding sewing projects I went fabric shopping for months ago.
For wordless wednesday I thought I’d share my new “hideously offensive” PJ bottoms (as K puts it due to the colours). I got the pattern from my “Weekend Sewing” book and they are super comfy, I’m actually wearing them now! haha.

I also made myself a wallet, which I really needed. I have a nice wallet-purse my mother-in-law gave me but it doesn’t have any card slots so it was always a disaster. This is my second attempt at a wallet, my first did not turn out so well, and I got the pattern from Very Purple Person. I made a few adjustments and combined a few of the steps though. I also forgot to use a piece with interfacing in it for part of the zippered pouch so the wallet isn’t as stiff as I’d like but I might just iron some on the inside anyways as no one will be looking in there anyways.

I also made one of two baby-related gifts we’re giving K’s friends but I don’t want to show off any of those gifts until after the baby shower![]()
I have a couple more projects to tackle in the coming weeks and I’ll share them when I’m done! One of them is a new case to carry all my diabetic supplies. I made a prototype for myself a while back for my insulin and needles, but I’m going to try and make one that will also fit my meter so I’m not having to carry two cases around.

Duni - Very cute pants! I love the heart fabric
Paige @ Little Nostalgia - The hearts are so sweet! Hope you bounce back soon.
Edi - I love your “hideously offensive” pants
I think they’re fun!
And the case for your supplies sounds great too. I bet a lot of people would like something fun and functional for their supplies.
Natalie - Thanks Duni! I wasn’t sure about it at first when I saw in the store but it was $2.50/meter on sale so I couldn’t say no, haha. I meant to do something around Valentine’s Day with it but didn’t have the time prior to plan anything out..looks like the fabric was just waiting for me to use it for PJ bottoms instead!
Natalie - Thanks Paige
I’m feeling better every day and I’m sure I’ll be back to my old self pretty quick!
Natalie - Me too Edi! I don’t know what K was thinking calling them “hideously offensive” haha. Boys I tell ya.
There are a number of great handmade shops selling cases currently for Diabetics but I’m so picky about fabric, style, etc that I’m better off to make one for myself. If it works out well though I will probably be making more and selling them online by donation (or a fixed donation amount) as I’m raising money for the Walk to Cure Diabetes again this year.
I will definately post my adventure of using a visual reference only to create a pattern and the final product (even if it is “hideously offensive” according to K haha).
